Transferring into FIDM?

FIDM welcomes transfer students with various college backgrounds who seek an intense, comprehensive, industry and career-oriented education.  Transfer applicants are welcome to apply for any starting quarter - there is no minimum number of units required for transfer.

Transfer Credit Opportunities

FIDM awards transfer credit for coursework taken at regionally accredited colleges and univerisities (classes from non-regionally accredited colleges which derive educational status from a specialized accrediting agency will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).

Note: Considered coursework content must be of a grade of "C" or better and equivalent to a corresponding FIDM class within the student's major.  AP scores of 3 or better in classes that meet the above criteria are transferable as well.

Post Degree Options

FIDM's Professional Designation Associate of Arts Degree programs are transfer programs for individuals with a U.S. Associate's, Bachelor's or higher degree, or a certified international degree who wish to add a new field of specialization.  These 9-15 month programs consist of concentrated and intensive study in one of FIDM's specialized majors.  Students from other regionally accredited degree programs have the opportunity to complement their previous education or pursue a new field of study by enrolling in a Professional Designation Program.

FIDM's Advanced Study Associate of Arts Degree programs are open to FIDM's own graduates.  These focused one-year programs allow students to master a specific concentration and add another dimension to their career within their unique area of study.
