Just how frustrating is it when you have the perfect shoes so clear in your mind, but can't find them? Very!! Especially when those perfect comfy shoes are for a feet-demanding job like waitressing. Your cry for help sent me on a Rocket Dog web trek. I discovered the website for their parent company, New York Transit, Inc. who recently acquired Rocket Dog and soon will be launching the Rocket Dog website. You won't find the Hot Dog sneakers here, but two other styles might work for you; one called "Street Life" and the other "Scooter". They are more loafers than sneakers, but look very cool and have black soles. I found several online shoe stores that sell Rocket Dogs, but unfortunately, no black-soled Hot Dogs.
