How much does it cost per year to go to FIDM, and what steps should I take to get ahead in the fashion industry?

I'm so glad to hear you're interested in FIDM! All the costs to attend FIDM are on the FIDM website at www.fidm.edu. Look in the Majors section and you will see all of FIDM's 14 majors. Within each specific Major, there will be a section to click on called "Tuition."

What you would do to get ahead in the fashion industry would depend on what career in the industry you'd like to have. If you look through the Majors section you will see that there are quite a few different choices! A few things that you could do now to increase your knowledge of the fashion industry are:

  • Read fashion magazines at the library and learn about the different Fashion Designers.
  • Read books about fashion and fashion history from the library.
  • Get a job in a retail store that sells clothes to get first-hand customer service experience.

When you're a Junior or Senior in high school you can apply to a good fashion college such as FIDM and really leap into an in-depth study of the fashion industry. It only takes two years to get a degree at FIDM, and then you'll be ready to launch your career in the area you choose!
